Unfortunately, my secret plan to transform the group into a Coldplay ukulele cover band has been uncovered! But this will not stop me from bringing more Coldplay songs to the Wednesday meeting. This one went extremely well already during the first time we played it.

Strangely enough, I would have never given this particular Coldplay song from the second album more attention had it not been an a capella cover by Stanford Mixed Company that caught my attention. (I had contact with one person singing in the group during that time.)

It would be nice to do a mash up of the song that they copied off Kraftwerk and Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer Love’..

That would be “Talk” from the third album, X&Y. But I find it hard to imagine how a mashup could work. The original song, apart from the riff, has little to offer on a musical level (you do not want to copy the monotonous talking). Please prove me wrong – I’ll be delighted!

Woot?! This from a German man? Sacrilege! 😉

The original song, apart from the riff, has little to offer on a musical level (you do not want to copy the monotonous talking).

I thought that about Coldplay’s.. 😉 It has little to offer musically, apart from Kraftwerk’s unforgettable melody 😉

I also like the English lyrics a lot more. I think Kraftwerk do to, I’ve never heard them play the German version live.. I’ve been mad on Kraftwerk ever since buying Man-Machine in 1978!
