  • Boutique Hotel View

We meet every Wednesday in central Amsterdam, just by the Leidseplein. You don’t need to be a ukulele whizz to come to our meetings. As long as you know some basic chords and can switch between them, you’ll have no problem! 🙂

We usually play songs from our song collection. On some occasions, we have surprise guests play for us or even give workshops!

Find Us

The location is easy to find if you’re visiting Amsterdam. Just take tram 1,2 or 5 from Centraal Station to Leidseplein. If you are coming from Schiphol airport, avoid centraal station altogether and take bus 197 directly from Schiphol to Leidseplein.

Many of our visitors also choose to stay in the same hotel that we hold our meetings in – Boutique Hotel View. It’s a great choice and one of the most liked hotels in Amsterdam. Check these Hotel reviews!

More Info

  • Free entry – Donations to the club are gratefully accepted.
  • The venue is suitable for a maximum of 15 people.
  • Please RSVP below so we don’t get overbooked.
  • If you are visiting the city, it is possible to loan a ukulele – please ask us in advance.
  • If you wish to introduce a new song to the group, please try to bring enough copies.

Hi Neil,

No problem 🙂 I know how it is when you’re visiting Amsterdam. It’s hard to keep to a schedule!

Hi y’all!

As Candace can’t make it, I’ll be playing host for the club meet at Hotel View tonight. We also have members of the Malden Ukulele Club as our guests from the UK. Liz asked me to suggest some songs for them to come play with us. I have sent them a zip file with the following songs:

  • Ain’t misbehavin’ – Billy Holiday
  • Banana pancakes – Jack Johnsson
  • Button up your overcoat
  • In between days – The Cure
  • Mad World – Tears for Fears
  • Only You – Vince Clarke (Yazoo)
  • Raindrops keep falling on my head – BJ Thomas
  • The man who sold the world – David Bowie
  • These boots are made for walking – Hazlewood/Goldson
  • White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplane

I think we all have them in our books somewhere so please bring them with you. See you all tonight!

Absolutely thanks for hosting last weeks meeting Robin. I will be there tomorrow night to check in but unfortunately I still can’t play..stitches supposed to come out Friday on my wrist but the incision is still not closed =( Bad part is it is affecting lots more than my Ukulele playing.. But I will still see you all..

Comment 6 of 21

You’re welcome, I hope your wrist is getting better. I’ll be along tonight as well. For everybody else attenting, I thought we could work on Ain’t Misbehavin’,  which we did in class and which I’ve really enjoyed playing the past two weeks. The chords can be downloaded from Jim’s Ukulele Songbook.

I’m planning to come on Wednesday. I come from Utrecht, though – I was wondering if anyone joins from there that I could ride along with? I’ll take the train this week, but I’d love to carpool if possible.

I am from UK and am staying in Schoorl.  I play ukulele and have it with me.  Does anyone know of a group near Schoorl please? I would come to Amsterdam but there is no transport back to Schoorl that time of night.  I go back to UK on 7th August.

Comment 9 of 21

Sorry Patricia, Maybe you could leave a little early and catch the last train back?

Hey! I’m so interested in going, I have a question though: I work on Wednesday evenings and I’m not able to be there at 7:30 pm, but at 8:00. Is that a problem? Thank you.

Comment 14 of 21

Shouldn’t be a problem. 🙂

Is anyone coming apart from me?

I am visiting from the U.S. on the 21st of March and would like to attend.  Is there any chance someone could bring a spare ukulele?  Carry on is such a pain.  https://www.facebook.com/yuleukes/ is my page in the U.S.
